Alex G has announced a new show at Glasgow&#39;s legendary Barrowland Ballroom later this year. Pennsylvania&#39;s preeminent master of melodic nostalgia and indie rock experimentation Alex Giannascoli and his long-serving band of brothers return to the city on Mon 17 Nov for their biggest Scottish live show to date, swiftly following the announcement of long-awaited new album Headlights, due for release on 18 July. <a href="undefined">In the meantime, Alex has previewed the first track from his new album</a>, entitled Afterlife. Aided by an irresistible mandolin-heavy hook, the song plays to the melodic strengths of previous records God Save The Animals, House of Sugar and in particular, 2017&#39;s Rocket, yet hints at new narrative direction and perhaps the most dextrous and most refined production to date. ALEX G TO PLAY BARRAS IN NOVEMBER

Big Nights @ La Belle is a new month-long concert series taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, only at La Belle Angele. This exciting new collaboration between the popular Old Town venue and summer events series Big Nights Out will host a cavalcade of extraordinary performers across the whole month of August, from familiar names and party starters to your new favourite artist. Beloved Libertines co-founder and esteemed solo artist Peter Docherty will perform across two nights in support of his much-anticipated new album Felt Better Alive (12+13 Aug); Kristen Hersh brings her popular 90s alt-rock combo Throwing Muses back to the capital with their first album in five years, Moonlight Concessions (20 Aug); Multi- Grammy-Award-Winning US Blues artist Fantastic Negrito brings his explosive live show to the city on 19 Aug, while revered MC and master of the bass-baritone flow, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli) brings his solo tour to Edinburgh for a hip-hop masterclass on 11 Aug. Beach Bunny announce new headline show in Glasgow

Big Nights Out has announced a new wave of summer concerts at Queen’s Park Arena as part of its 2025 programming across two of Glasgow’s iconic outdoor bandstands. Over several nights in May, June and July, Glasgow will play host to a packed line up of world-renowned artists and local legends for a run of very special live outdoor performances at Kelvingrove Bandstand and Queen’s Park Arena this year.Today, new performances have been added to the line up at Queen’s Park Arena, including Leeds post-punk faves Yard Act (18 July), punk-jazz experimenter Geordie Greep (black midi - 19 July) and rambunctious London indie-punk collective Warmduscher (5 July). Faze originated as a menagerie of a not-quite-supergroup, created to address the gaps in the Montreal music scene. Comprised of members from diverse musical backgrounds—crust, hardcore, punk, and psych—their sound embodies the chaotic energy of a relentless snowstorm, with a brass trombone soaring overhead. Combining driving hardcore punk with tinges of psych elements they craft a sound that is melded, born not borrowed. Not only do they capture the essence of the city, but the members also actively contribute to its vibrant culture from multiple perspectives. With two albums released and tours across various countries, Faze represents the spirit of Montreal, alongside the city’s hardcore punk scene.

THE POPGUNS are an indie pop group formed in Brighton in 1987, known for their melodic sound, driving guitars, and the powerful, heartfelt vocals of lead singer Wendy Pickles. As part of the late 80s/early 90s indie scene they recorded two John Peel sessions and achieved indie-chart success with singles like "Landslide" and quintessential albums ‘Eugenie’ and ‘Snog’ before a hiatus. 2012 saw the band resume live performances followed by a new album, ‘Pop Fiction’, in 2014 on Matinée Recordings. The album received widespread praise within the indie-music blogs and appeared in many of their Top 10 Releases of the year. The band have continued to tour and record new material and released the “Who Never Found Love” EP in 2025.

Sports Frock Present: Hot Wash We are excited to share our debut album with you all. Join us in our celebration. Sports Frock started when one of the Gregs needed something to get him through the deep Glasgow winter. Two years later these four friends have written an eclectic collection of songs together to create an album that ranges from tight bangers, meandering love songs and chaotic noises. We are very excited to share them all with you. On stage expect matching frocks, instrument swapping, everyone singing (perhaps even drummer Jack this time), some strutting if you're lucky (which you will be!), and all manner of silliness. Support comes courtesy of: Bottom Line - Bottom Line is Libbi and Laurie. After a year hanging upside down around venues in Edinburgh, they have emerged from the Clyde at night to take Glasgow. Or be taken by it. Falling within rock and experimental, influenced by folk and punk songwriting, Bottom Line are improvisational and choregraphed. Queerness and fluidity is our approach. We enjoy feedback, guitars, screaming, and production software. Roll up for the Glasgow debut! Craggyland - Craggyland is the project of musician, field recordist, and architecture enthusiast Tilly Mason. She blends urban found sounds, experimental noise, lush guitar loops and vibrato melodies to create a map of sound that is familiar but more warped and twisted than you remember. She wants you to get lost with her. Inspired by the likes of feeo, Jessica Bailiff, and Daniel Blumberg, she tests the limits of her instruments and song strucutres - recently bringing an electric toothbrush, bubble wrap, and phone screen radiation into her setup.
