Alex G has announced a new show at Glasgow&#39;s legendary Barrowland Ballroom later this year. ALEX G TO PLAY BARRAS IN NOVEMBER

Big Nights @ La Belle is a new month-long concert series taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, only at La Belle Angele. This exciting new collaboration between the popular Old Town venue and summer events series Big Nights Out will host a cavalcade of extraordinary performers across the whole month of August, from familiar names and party starters to your new favourite artist. Beloved Libertines co-founder and esteemed solo artist Peter Docherty will perform across two nights in support of his much-anticipated new album Felt Better Alive (12+13 Aug); Kristen Hersh brings her popular 90s alt-rock combo Throwing Muses back to the capital with their first album in five years, Moonlight Concessions (20 Aug); Multi- Grammy-Award-Winning US Blues artist Fantastic Negrito brings his explosive live show to the city on 19 Aug, while revered MC and master of the bass-baritone flow, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli) brings his solo tour to Edinburgh for a hip-hop masterclass on 11 Aug. Beach Bunny announce new headline show in Glasgow

Big Nights Out has announced a new wave of summer concerts at Queen’s Park Arena as part of its 2025 programming across two of Glasgow’s iconic outdoor bandstands. Over several nights in May, June and July, Glasgow will play host to a packed line up of world-renowned artists and local legends for a run of very special live outdoor performances at Kelvingrove Bandstand and Queen’s Park Arena this year.Today, new performances have been added to the line up at Queen’s Park Arena, including Leeds post-punk faves Yard Act (18 July), punk-jazz experimenter Geordie Greep (black midi - 19 July) and rambunctious London indie-punk collective Warmduscher (5 July). Spawning from Los Angeles, Faetooth forges “fairy-doom”: an eclectic amalgamation of doom metal, sludge, and shoegaze. From spellbinding melodies to guttural shrieks, Faetooth’s music conjures a looming atmosphere offering you a glimpse into their mystifying realm. Having recently released the ferociously beautiful track “Death of Day,” sound, Faetooth returns with their sophomore album, Labyrinthine. Labyrinthine is a visceral, haunting, disturbing vision filled with introspection. Enter through the “Iron Gate” — the garden, the light, the void, the body. This is exemplified by their new track,“White Noise,” out today. &amp;quot;White Noise&amp;quot; emerged from a diary entry, and is a relentless and intense reflection on inner turmoil. We’re often drawn to the familiar, even when we don’t realize we’re reaching out for it. It is an emotional upheaval, carrying harsh truths that weigh heavily on the heart. Guitarist, Ari May mentions, “Performing the song always takes me back to a specific place, even if just for a moment.” From profoundly intimate to explosively cathartic moments — Faetooth’s latest offering features their distinctive blend of ethereal clean and roaring harsh vocals, fuzzy guitars, and pounding rhythms. Coming off of 2022’s Remnants of the Vessel, the trio continues to explore sounds ranging from gliding to grinding, from the rhythmic grunge of “Death of Day,” to the bittersweet melodies of “October.” While embracing a newly softened, more intimate tone, Faetooth releases even more emotional rawness. Themes of loss, self-pity, personal relationships, and more find a focus in singles like “Hole,” and “White Noise.” This new intimate balance doesn’t dilute their palpable intensity; rather reframing it, offering listeners a haunting yet delicate atmosphere layered with entrancing textures that build up into eruptive climaxes. Like the ancient myth of the minotaur in the labyrinth, at its core, Labyrinthine is a deeply personal, shrouded, monster of an album; It is a winding, toilful, maze to a tender center notquite prevalent yet in Faetooth’s mystical and metaphorical universe.

Skinner is Aaron Corcoran, based in Dublin, who writes, records and produces songs about growing up and overcoming a dirt-flecked 21st century existence.&nbsp;﻿The DNA of no wave and post-punk acts like The B52s, James Chance and the Contortions and ESG through to alt-rock touchstones Pixies and Morphine combined with an talent for grunge-nodding self-production and pockets of elevated instrumentation is oozing from Skinner’s music. Debut album New Wave Vaudeville, released January 2025 on Faction Records, references the New Wave Vaudeville music variety freak show that took place at the 57 Club in New York from 1978 to 1983. The club was known for its free-form art shows, a debaucherous wild riposte to creeping commerciality of modern culture of the time, an era that perfectly reflects the rambunctious nature&nbsp;Skinner&nbsp;has brought to this new collection. Skinner&nbsp;and his five-piece band including saxophonist have played have performed at numerous festivals such as The Great Escape, Ireland Music Week, Beyond The Pale, All Together Now, Other Voices, the Galway Fringe Festival and Watt’en Schlick-festival to name a few and recently supported Gurriers, Lime Garden, Dope Lemon, Algiers, Bambara, The Wedding Present and Silverbacks.

Since their inception in 2009, the genre-defying Submotion Orchestra have moved&nbsp; seamlessly between deep electronica, jazz, soul and ambient downtempo,&nbsp; mesmerising audiences from Iceland to India. Their unique music is at once&nbsp; delicate and heavy, spacious and dense, highly atmospheric but firmly rooted.&nbsp; Earth-shaking bass and drums combine with lush keyboard and trumpet textures&nbsp; to create the perfect backdrop for the fragile beauty of Ruby Wood’s vocals.&nbsp;&nbsp;	Formed in Leeds in 2009, the band quickly made a splash on the wider scene.&nbsp; Their live gigs left audiences open-mouthed, and their debut EP on Ranking&nbsp; Records drew a rave reaction from Gilles Peterson who quickly gave the band their&nbsp; first Radio 1 session. Their now-legendary weekly residency at the tiny Hukaz Bar&nbsp; in Leeds gave fans the unique opportunity to see the band create new material up&nbsp; close and personal.&nbsp;&nbsp;The band’s first full-length album Finest Hour became an instant cult classic on its&nbsp; 2010 release, receiving strong support from DJs such as 6 Music's Mista Jam and&nbsp; Trevor Nelson. In 2012, Follow-up album Fragments received heated enthusiasm&nbsp; from fans and critics alike for the variety of its sound. Radio support came from&nbsp; such diverse presenters as Pete Tong, Huey, Lauren Laverne and Don Letts,&nbsp; demonstrating Submotion’s unique cross-genre appeal. Fragments spent a week&nbsp; at number 1 in the iTunes charts, and the supporting tour climaxed with a sold-out&nbsp; show at London’s legendary Koko, while appearances followed at some of&nbsp; Europe’s biggest festivals, including Glastonbury, Bestival, The Big Chill, Pohoda&nbsp; and Outlook.&nbsp;&nbsp;	Demand for the band had never been greater, as their reputation for staging one of&nbsp; the most exciting shows around grew with each appearance they made. 2013 saw&nbsp; them release the 1968 EP on Circus Records, which saw their champions grow to&nbsp; include i-D, Noisey, and Clash, and this was followed by their third album, Alium, a&nbsp; dazzlingly eclectic record that showcased every aspect of the band’s myriad&nbsp; talents. Ninja Tune/Counter Records leapt at the chance to release it, signing the&nbsp; band in summer 2014. Released that autumn, it garnered fantastic support at radio&nbsp; and superb reviews, with Mixmag proclaiming it “drenched in sunshine,” and Clash&nbsp; pointing to a band who seem able “stop time, their uniquely chilled grooves&nbsp; retaining a zen-like peace.”&nbsp;The group’s reputation for stunning live performances grew with further UK and&nbsp; European tours, headlining the 6000-capacity Pula ampitheatre at the Outlook&nbsp; festival and sold-out shows at the Barbican Theatre (for the London Jazz Festival)&nbsp; and The Forum. Their song ‘Perfection’ was sampled for Young Jeezy’s Seen it All&nbsp; album, which went to number 2 in the US album charts, whilst Bryson Tiller’s&nbsp; monster hit ‘Right My Wrongs’ made memorable use of Submotion’s signature&nbsp; tune ‘All Yours’. Instrumental EP III moved their sound to more electronic realms,&nbsp; whilst critically-acclaimed fourth album Colour Theory found the band&nbsp; collaborating with artists such as Royce Wood Jr., Andrew Ashong and Catching&nbsp; Flies, with their momentum reaching a notable peak with a headline show at the&nbsp; legendary Royal Albert Hall. Fifth album Kites marked a return to their early sound,&nbsp; written and arranged by the band playing together, and recorded live in the studio,&nbsp; featuring their most personal and honest songs yet.&nbsp;&nbsp; The COVID lockdown saw the band return to basics by recording and releasing&nbsp; their Unplugged collections, featuring fan and band favourites performed in a&nbsp; stripped-back setting, which they brought to rapturous concert audiences in 2023&nbsp; in collaboration with the Prism String Ensemble. This period of looking back&nbsp; enabled the band to find their next direction forward, which saw its first&nbsp; demonstration with 2024’s Five Points EP, and has culminated in their newest LP&nbsp; Passed Me By, which shows the band continuing to explore new roads for their&nbsp; music, ploughing a path through electronic, jazz, ambient and soul in the singular&nbsp; way that Submotion Orchestra can do.&nbsp;&nbsp;
