Big Nights @ La Belle is a new month-long concert series taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, only at La Belle Angele. This exciting new collaboration between the popular Old Town venue and summer events series Big Nights Out will host a cavalcade of extraordinary performers across the whole month of August, from familiar names and party starters to your new favourite artist. Beloved Libertines co-founder and esteemed solo artist Peter Docherty will perform across two nights in support of his much-anticipated new album Felt Better Alive (12+13 Aug); Kristen Hersh brings her popular 90s alt-rock combo Throwing Muses back to the capital with their first album in five years, Moonlight Concessions (20 Aug); Multi- Grammy-Award-Winning US Blues artist Fantastic Negrito brings his explosive live show to the city on 19 Aug, while revered MC and master of the bass-baritone flow, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli) brings his solo tour to Edinburgh for a hip-hop masterclass on 11 Aug. Beach Bunny announce new headline show in Glasgow

Big Nights Out has announced a new wave of summer concerts at Queen’s Park Arena as part of its 2025 programming across two of Glasgow’s iconic outdoor bandstands. Over several nights in May, June and July, Glasgow will play host to a packed line up of world-renowned artists and local legends for a run of very special live outdoor performances at Kelvingrove Bandstand and Queen’s Park Arena this year.Today, new performances have been added to the line up at Queen’s Park Arena, including Leeds post-punk faves Yard Act (18 July), punk-jazz experimenter Geordie Greep (black midi - 19 July) and rambunctious London indie-punk collective Warmduscher (5 July). Jana Horn is an American songwriter whose work traces the quiet edges of experience with rare precision. On her self-titled third album (out in January 2026 via No Quarter), recorded at Sonic Ranch in the West Texas desert, she sharpens her minimalist language to its most elemental form – dry air, open space, spoken-sung lines that land like observations overheard in a dream. Working as a trio with bassist Jade Guterman and drummer Adam Jones, Horn creates a friction between her stark delivery and the band’s melodic pull, while clarinetist/flutist Adelyn Strei and pianist Miles Hewitt add ghost-tones and grounding figures. The music evokes early Cat Power or the sparse poetics of Loren Connors – but ultimately feels entirely its own: distilled, searching, quietly intense. Written during a disorienting first year in New York, the album captures a period of upheaval and re-formation. Songs emerge like field notes from a life in motion – city fragments, desert clarity, letters between friends, glimpses of renewal. What remains is a voice that cuts through the noise by refusing it, shaping a world from silence, detail, and the unguarded moment.

LSD and the Search for God hit the Northern California coast in 2005, seemingly from another place and time, dosing San Francisco with hypnotic shows built on swirling guitars, otherworldly drones, fuzzed-out pop melodies, and dreamy vocal harmonies. Early shows and recordings drew comparisons to My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Yo La Tengo, Spacemen 3, and Sonic Youth, helping the band quickly earn a reputation as a must-see act within the Northern California underground shoegaze and psych scene. Their self-titled debut EP (Mind Expansion Records, 2007; Don Giovanni, 2025) sold out before its official release date, earned critical acclaim, and continues to appear on lists of essential shoegaze releases.&nbsp; All five songs cemented the band as key players in the late-2000s shoegaze revival. But the fourth track, “Starting Over,” emerged as a defining moment. It captures the genre’s essence with submerged vocal harmonies and a finely balanced guitar interplay that drifts between hushed intimacy and sweeping wall-of-sound swells. Striking a rare space between vulnerability and grandeur, “Starting Over” has grown beyond a fan favorite into a modern shoegaze anthem — one that feels inseparable from the movement it helped shape. With anticipation building around their cult-classic debut, the band delivered a second EP that surpassed expectations, expanded their sound, and sharpened their vision. Heaven Is a Place (Space Age Recordings, 2016; Don Giovanni, 2025) frequented many Best Of lists and, according to It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine, is “…controlled pop that matters, weaving their sound with fuzz, reverb, feedback and an eternal bliss that will melt you in place.” Pop Matters calls it, "a long-awaited sermon for the faithful and a blazing induction for new converts," while Primal Music says it's "another astonishing collection of five psychedelic stories glistening with the same spaced out ingredients that blew my mind way back in 2007."

Oh Wow, Oh Well is the debut album by goo. Recorded at converted chapel The Nave with producer Andy Hawkins; the album contains 12 tracks of high energy indie rock with flourishes of punk, grunge and shoegaze. The album will be preceded by the singles ‘Pay Day’, ‘Slow Morning’ and ‘I Like Your Style’. Following the release of the album, the band will release ‘Things Take Time’ as the final single. Throughout 2026, they will tour the UK and Europe beginning with a sold out 11-date tour of the UK supporting Marmozets. They will play 2000 Trees, Rock N Roll Circus, and Beautiful Days Festivals. The album will be released on vinyl and CD through Record Plant Records / Southern Records Distributors.

Margaret Chardiet is an interdisciplinary sound artist born and based in New York City. Raised by underground musicians and artists, Margaret was surrounded by a collective of the city’s impassioned, cultural detritus. Instead of following a path of higher education, she began the experimental project Pharmakon in 2006, at the age of 16. Pharmakon as a project, entity, and process, has evolved and exists in true protean form, developing alongside (or more so within) Margaret’s personal experience and auto-didactic philosophies. Her work as a whole is a forced self-possession, a celebration of ferality and viscereality, which performatively abandons a society that has never accepted anything it couldn’t also exploit. Chardiet uses electronic synthesis as a tool to transfer this self-possession physiologically and intra-spatially into the bodies of their audience. Timbre becomes temper. Ferality, a social contagion or biorhythm. Margaret has also played in numerous punk groups that extend out to a greater international D.I.Y. music community, and has composed score and original music for the films Transfiguration (2017), and Sound of Metal (2019).

Her poetic lyrics explore love, identity, and personal transformation, earning her critical acclaim and growing international recognition.She released her debut EP Twelve Wooden Boxes in 2022, followed by The Writings and the Pictures and the Song in 2024, both of which were shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year Award.&nbsp;Becky&nbsp;has toured with Nile Rodgers, supported Corto.Alto, Joy Crookes and Crane Wives amongst others and was recently named BBC Introducing’s Scottish Artist Of The Year 2025.
