Alex G has announced a new show at Glasgow&#39;s legendary Barrowland Ballroom later this year. Pennsylvania&#39;s preeminent master of melodic nostalgia and indie rock experimentation Alex Giannascoli and his long-serving band of brothers return to the city on Mon 17 Nov for their biggest Scottish live show to date, swiftly following the announcement of long-awaited new album Headlights, due for release on 18 July. <a href="undefined">In the meantime, Alex has previewed the first track from his new album</a>, entitled Afterlife. ALEX G TO PLAY BARRAS IN NOVEMBER

Big Nights @ La Belle is a new month-long concert series taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, only at La Belle Angele. This exciting new collaboration between the popular Old Town venue and summer events series Big Nights Out will host a cavalcade of extraordinary performers across the whole month of August, from familiar names and party starters to your new favourite artist. Beloved Libertines co-founder and esteemed solo artist Peter Docherty will perform across two nights in support of his much-anticipated new album Felt Better Alive (12+13 Aug); Kristen Hersh brings her popular 90s alt-rock combo Throwing Muses back to the capital with their first album in five years, Moonlight Concessions (20 Aug); Multi- Grammy-Award-Winning US Blues artist Fantastic Negrito brings his explosive live show to the city on 19 Aug, while revered MC and master of the bass-baritone flow, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli) brings his solo tour to Edinburgh for a hip-hop masterclass on 11 Aug. Beach Bunny announce new headline show in Glasgow

Big Nights Out has announced a new wave of summer concerts at Queen’s Park Arena as part of its 2025 programming across two of Glasgow’s iconic outdoor bandstands. Over several nights in May, June and July, Glasgow will play host to a packed line up of world-renowned artists and local legends for a run of very special live outdoor performances at Kelvingrove Bandstand and Queen’s Park Arena this year.Today, new performances have been added to the line up at Queen’s Park Arena, including Leeds post-punk faves Yard Act (18 July), punk-jazz experimenter Geordie Greep (black midi - 19 July) and rambunctious London indie-punk collective Warmduscher (5 July). ‘Marshall Gilmour Webbs' are a group formed of&nbsp;Louise Marshall (celebrated vocalist from the Jools Holland band)Romany Gilmour (of number one single ‘Between Two Points’)&nbsp;and Hattie &amp; Charley Webb (known for their work with Leonard Cohen and Tom Petty).&nbsp; They developed a close bond on David Gilmour’s 2024 Luck and Strange tour. Performing a series of shows in July they took Piano Smithfield by storm, selling out and releasing extra dates.&nbsp; Subsequently they have worked with RGB sessions to release both cover and original music online.&nbsp;With swelling vocals, ethereal harmonies and eclectic instrumentation, they have performed the music of The Roches, Dolly Parton, Billy Joel, Minnie Riperton and more,&nbsp;along with their own original songs written collaboratively from Louise’s living room. ‘Auralux’ is the highly anticipated debut mini-album from Irish shoegazers, Silk. Michael Smyth, songwriter/guitarist of the acclaimed but now defunct band Virgins, is the sole contributor to the project. Taking on responsibilities for all the songwriting, performance and recording, gives the project intense personal meaning for Michael. Michael says, ‘There is no beauty in perfection, it feels fake and manufactured to me. I want the record to feel real, so this is the sound of visceral self-expression.’ 2025 saw the release of three highly successful singles and Irish tours, including festival appearances at GazeFest supporting Whitelands and Sweet Sweet Noise. Lead single of the album ‘Clementine’ released earlier this year, which found Silk push into darker and more abrasive territory, leaning hard into texture and density. ‘Auralux’ covers a wide range of sonic territory over its 6 tracks; celestial and euphoric guitars dove tail with impossibly thick crushing fuzz, while cascading reverse reverbs melt into one another. Lyrically the mini-album moves between themes of mortality, memory, loss, love and time. Auralux is catharsis via volume and reverb. ‘Auralux’, is released May 7th by Blowtorch Records (IRE/vinyl) and Shoredive Records (UK/CD). FFO: Nothing, Whirr, My Bloody Valentine and Slow Crush
