Alex G has announced a new show at Glasgow&#39;s legendary Barrowland Ballroom later this year. Pennsylvania&#39;s preeminent master of melodic nostalgia and indie rock experimentation Alex Giannascoli and his long-serving band of brothers return to the city on Mon 17 Nov for their biggest Scottish live show to date, swiftly following the announcement of long-awaited new album Headlights, due for release on 18 July. <a href="undefined">In the meantime, Alex has previewed the first track from his new album</a>, entitled Afterlife. Big Nights @ La Belle is a new month-long concert series taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, only at La Belle Angele. This exciting new collaboration between the popular Old Town venue and summer events series Big Nights Out will host a cavalcade of extraordinary performers across the whole month of August, from familiar names and party starters to your new favourite artist. Beloved Libertines co-founder and esteemed solo artist Peter Docherty will perform across two nights in support of his much-anticipated new album Felt Better Alive (12+13 Aug); Kristen Hersh brings her popular 90s alt-rock combo Throwing Muses back to the capital with their first album in five years, Moonlight Concessions (20 Aug); Multi- Grammy-Award-Winning US Blues artist Fantastic Negrito brings his explosive live show to the city on 19 Aug, while revered MC and master of the bass-baritone flow, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli) brings his solo tour to Edinburgh for a hip-hop masterclass on 11 Aug. Beach Bunny announce new headline show in Glasgow

Big Nights Out has announced a new wave of summer concerts at Queen’s Park Arena as part of its 2025 programming across two of Glasgow’s iconic outdoor bandstands. Over several nights in May, June and July, Glasgow will play host to a packed line up of world-renowned artists and local legends for a run of very special live outdoor performances at Kelvingrove Bandstand and Queen’s Park Arena this year.Today, new performances have been added to the line up at Queen’s Park Arena, including Leeds post-punk faves Yard Act (18 July), punk-jazz experimenter Geordie Greep (black midi - 19 July) and rambunctious London indie-punk collective Warmduscher (5 July). Spawning from Los Angeles, Faetooth forges “fairy-doom”: an eclectic amalgamation of doom metal, sludge, and shoegaze. From spellbinding melodies to guttural shrieks, Faetooth’s music conjures a looming atmosphere offering you a glimpse into their mystifying realm. Having recently released the ferociously beautiful track “Death of Day,” sound, Faetooth returns with their sophomore album, Labyrinthine.&nbsp; Labyrinthine is a visceral, haunting, disturbing vision filled with introspection. Enter through the “Iron Gate” — the garden, the light, the void, the body. This is exemplified by their new track, “White Noise,” out today. &amp;quot;White Noise&amp;quot; emerged from a diary entry, and is a relentless and intense reflection on inner turmoil. We’re often drawn to the familiar, even when we don’t realize we’re reaching out for it. It is an emotional upheaval, carrying harsh truths that weigh heavily on the heart. Guitarist, Ari May mentions, “Performing the song always takes me back to a specific place, even if just for a moment.”&nbsp; From profoundly intimate to explosively cathartic moments — Faetooth’s latest offering features their distinctive blend of ethereal clean and roaring harsh vocals, fuzzy guitars, and pounding rhythms. Coming off of 2022’s Remnants of the Vessel, the trio continues to explore sounds ranging from gliding to grinding, from the rhythmic grunge of “Death of Day,” to the bittersweet melodies of “October.” While embracing a newly softened, more intimate tone, Faetooth releases even more emotional rawness. It’s over twenty years since The Wave Pictures formed in Wymeswold, Leicestershire as teenagers. The trio of Jonny Helm (drums), Dave Tattersall (guitar &amp; vocals) and Franic Rozycki (bass) have gone on to be one of the UK’s most prolific and beloved bands. Fond of classic rock, jazz and blues, they are also one of the most accomplished, with Tattersall’s guitar solos becoming the stuff of legend. They have collaborated with varying bright stars of the musical firmament, from their ongoing partnership with ex-Herman Dune member Stanley Brinks, or the very close partnership with Billy Childish for 2015’s ‘Great Big Flamingo Burning Moon’. &nbsp;The band have released 11 albums and played some of the most treasured festival stages around including Primavera Sound, Green Man and End of the Road.
