Alex G has announced a new show at Glasgow&#39;s legendary Barrowland Ballroom later this year. Big Nights @ La Belle is a new month-long concert series taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, only at La Belle Angele. This exciting new collaboration between the popular Old Town venue and summer events series Big Nights Out will host a cavalcade of extraordinary performers across the whole month of August, from familiar names and party starters to your new favourite artist. Beloved Libertines co-founder and esteemed solo artist Peter Docherty will perform across two nights in support of his much-anticipated new album Felt Better Alive (12+13 Aug); Kristen Hersh brings her popular 90s alt-rock combo Throwing Muses back to the capital with their first album in five years, Moonlight Concessions (20 Aug); Multi- Grammy-Award-Winning US Blues artist Fantastic Negrito brings his explosive live show to the city on 19 Aug, while revered MC and master of the bass-baritone flow, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli) brings his solo tour to Edinburgh for a hip-hop masterclass on 11 Aug. Beach Bunny announce new headline show in Glasgow

Big Nights Out has announced a new wave of summer concerts at Queen’s Park Arena as part of its 2025 programming across two of Glasgow’s iconic outdoor bandstands. Over several nights in May, June and July, Glasgow will play host to a packed line up of world-renowned artists and local legends for a run of very special live outdoor performances at Kelvingrove Bandstand and Queen’s Park Arena this year.Today, new performances have been added to the line up at Queen’s Park Arena, including Leeds post-punk faves Yard Act (18 July), punk-jazz experimenter Geordie Greep (black midi - 19 July) and rambunctious London indie-punk collective Warmduscher (5 July). Michelle Zauner&#39;s cinematic indie rock project Japanese Breakfast has today released their fourth album, For Melancholy Brunettes (&amp; Sad Women) via Dead Oceans. The album&#39;s release preceds the band&#39;s return to Scotland with a summer headline show at Glasgow&#39;s iconic Barrowland Ballroom set for Mon 30 June. This will be their biggest Scotland show to date, charting an impressive growth in scope and stature over the course of four well-received full length albums since. Greg Ryan is a singer, multi instrumentalist and songwriter from Newport South Wales. He began his music career as one half of the music duo Nothing North Of Alaska with whom he was highlighted as artist of the week by BBC introducing, topped the international independent charts with two original songs and won a Download Music Award for best acoustic act. Greg has since established himself as a solo performer, playing regularly in venues around South Wales as well as venues further afield including Brixton Jamm, Dublin Castle – Camden and the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Greg’s first original single as a solo act has been championed by BBC Radio Wales and added to the Welsh A List. Greg’s style borrows from folk, country and Americana styles and includes a repertoire of self penned songs about subjects including attempts to relax into the chaos of looking for life’s purpose, struggles with long distance relationships and the life and works of at least one near forgotten female paleontologist. Greg has also composed for film and tv projects, lead creative education projects as digital artist in residence at Tate, made a language inventor with Shakespeare’s Globe and remixed the London Symphony Orchestra’s string section with the help of 300 children.

IRKED are a proper punk band from the North East of England, formed in late 2022. Drawing from the raw energy of modern garage punk, ’80s hardcore and eggy post-punk, the band have quickly built a reputation for their fierce, high-energy sound and uncompromising live shows; a chaotic, upfront mix of intensity, dark wit and clarting about. Magnetic Skies are a UK synth-pop and darkwave band whose cinematic electronic sound blends vintage analogue textures with soaring modern songwriting. Formed by vocalist/keyboardist&nbsp;Simon Kent&nbsp;and keyboardist&nbsp;Jo Womar, the project began as a studio collaboration inspired by a shared love of 80s synth-driven post-punk and electronic pop. What started as an experimental recording partnership quickly evolved into a fully realised band, with drummer&nbsp;Lenin Alegria&nbsp;joining the line-up and helping translate the duo’s atmospheric recordings into an immersive live experience.&nbsp; Magnetic Skies first built momentum through a series of EP releases during 2020, establishing a signature sound built around pulsing basslines, analogue synthesisers and emotionally charged vocals. W.I.T.C.H. (We Intend To Cause Havoc) were the biggest rock band in Zambia in the 1970s and spearheaded a new genre dubbed Zamrock, fusing influences that ranged from the Rolling Stones to Black Sabbath and James Brown and mixing them with traditional African rhythms and bush village songs. At t the peak of their popularity, the band often needed police to keep fans at bay while their lead singer Jagari - whose name is an Africanisation of Mick Jagger’s - riled up crowds by stage diving from balconies and dancing manically as the WITCH’s blend of psychedelic rock and African rhythms permeated the surrounding atmosphere. Jagari is the charismatic sole surviving original member of the band. As Zambia’s economy stagnated and the country buckled under the AIDS crisis, WITCH fell apart. Jagari retreated to a life of quasi-anonymity as a university music professor before being wrongfully arrested during Zambia’s toughest hour. Now a man in his 60s, he spends his time mining gemstones hoping to strike it rich, until very recently the band being just a nostalgic memory of his youth. Largely unknown outside of their home country, WITCH finally got the exposure they deserved when Now Again Records reissued their entire discography in 2012. This allowed Jagari to play outside Africa for the first time and for a new generation of fans to discover his music. In 2016 he began a collaboration with Dutch musicians Jacco Gardner and Nic Mauskoviç, and together with them, in September 2017 WITCH headed out on its extremely successful first-ever European Tour. In the Fall of 2019, WITCH embarked on their first North American tour. They return to the states including this show at The Drake on 10/9 following the screening of the documentary at the Amherst Cinema on 9/7.&nbsp;
