Alex G has announced a new show at Glasgow&#39;s legendary Barrowland Ballroom later this year. Pennsylvania&#39;s preeminent master of melodic nostalgia and indie rock experimentation Alex Giannascoli and his long-serving band of brothers return to the city on Mon 17 Nov for their biggest Scottish live show to date, swiftly following the announcement of long-awaited new album Headlights, due for release on 18 July. <a href="undefined">In the meantime, Alex has previewed the first track from his new album</a>, entitled Afterlife. Big Nights @ La Belle is a new month-long concert series taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, only at La Belle Angele. This exciting new collaboration between the popular Old Town venue and summer events series Big Nights Out will host a cavalcade of extraordinary performers across the whole month of August, from familiar names and party starters to your new favourite artist. Beloved Libertines co-founder and esteemed solo artist Peter Docherty will perform across two nights in support of his much-anticipated new album Felt Better Alive (12+13 Aug); Kristen Hersh brings her popular 90s alt-rock combo Throwing Muses back to the capital with their first album in five years, Moonlight Concessions (20 Aug); Multi- Grammy-Award-Winning US Blues artist Fantastic Negrito brings his explosive live show to the city on 19 Aug, while revered MC and master of the bass-baritone flow, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli) brings his solo tour to Edinburgh for a hip-hop masterclass on 11 Aug. Beach Bunny announce new headline show in Glasgow

Big Nights Out has announced a new wave of summer concerts at Queen’s Park Arena as part of its 2025 programming across two of Glasgow’s iconic outdoor bandstands. Over several nights in May, June and July, Glasgow will play host to a packed line up of world-renowned artists and local legends for a run of very special live outdoor performances at Kelvingrove Bandstand and Queen’s Park Arena this year.Today, new performances have been added to the line up at Queen’s Park Arena, including Leeds post-punk faves Yard Act (18 July), punk-jazz experimenter Geordie Greep (black midi - 19 July) and rambunctious London indie-punk collective Warmduscher (5 July). Michelle Zauner&#39;s cinematic indie rock project Japanese Breakfast has today released their fourth album, For Melancholy Brunettes (&amp; Sad Women) via Dead Oceans. The album&#39;s release preceds the band&#39;s return to Scotland with a summer headline show at Glasgow&#39;s iconic Barrowland Ballroom set for Mon 30 June. This will be their biggest Scotland show to date, charting an impressive growth in scope and stature over the course of four well-received full length albums since. Following his youth in Wimberley, TX, playing blues, manouche jazz, and western swing in bars and dance halls across the state, Buck moved to Brooklyn and released two solo EPs, Live from a Volcano (2013), and Heart Was Beat (2015). Concurrently, he met songwriter Adrianne Lenker in 2012, and after a year of fervent collaboration, they recorded two EPs,&nbsp;A-sides and B-sides (2014), then from there expanded into a four-piece, Big Thief, with Max Oleartchik and James Krivchenia, and have since released four records, Masterpiece (2016), Capacity (2017), UFOF (2019), Two Hands (2019), Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You (2022) and Double Infinity (2025). In 2018, Meek released his self-titled solo debut on&nbsp;	Austin-based label Keeled Scales–a kaleidoscope of blue-collar fairytales that illuminate mysticism in the temporal, humor unearthed in tragedy, and the strength of vulnerability. Later that year he moved to the mountains north of Los Angeles, where he wrote many of the songs that became Two Saviors (2021). Featuring the same group of longtime collaborators, Two Saviors emerged as a cathartic, naked confession of heartbreak, resiliency, and enchantment. Meek’s most recent LP, Haunted Mountain (2023) marked his first release with 4AD. The songs were written in mountains–by cold springs in the Serra da Estrela of Portugal on the submerged volcano of Milos in the Cyclades, Valle Onsernone in the Swiss Alps, and the Santa Monica range where Buck now calls home. Haunted Mountain is about love and...something other. Something bigger than love, something that doesn’t challenge love exactly but stands in contrast to it. A soulfulness, or a soul seeking fullness. Buck Meek believes that all of the great love songs have not been written yet. In between the lines of Haunted Mountain, we hear that love, in every form, is the creation of home, from within–forever leaving one to find another.

Known for his introspective folk-pop and worldly perspective, Josh Rouse has built a reputation as a critically acclaimed and perennially reliable singer/songwriter. Born in Nebraska, Josh Rouse moved to various cities throughout his childhood and subsequent musical career, driven at first by his father's military career and later by his desire to take inspiration from different environments. He paid tribute to his birthplace on his 1998 debut, Dressed Up Like Nebraska, and later explored the influence of his adopted home state, Tennessee, with 2005's Nashville. Josh later settled in Spain, where his music cycled through various influences from the light Spanish touch of 2010's El Turista to the synth-driven pop of 2018's Love in the Modern Age. He returned to a stripped-down rootsy brand of indie rock for 2022's Going Places.

Allman Brown is a London, UK based singer-songwriter influenced by classic artists of the genre: Springsteen, Bon Iver, Paul Simon, Tracy Chapman and Feist. A preternaturally gifted vocalist, Brown has released three studio albums - 1000 Years (2017), Darling, It'll Be Alright (2019) and Second Son (2024) - and a number of EPs, which have accumulated a quarter of a billion streams and counting across both Spotify and Apple Music. Many of these songs have been used during dramatic moments of US TV shows such as The Good Doctor, Station 19, Criminal Minds and Suits, lending an emotional gravitas which has come to be associated with Brown’s music. His heart-on-sleeve compositions have taken him on headline tours of the UK, Ireland, continental Europe, Asia and North America. Brown’s fourth album, produced with long time collaborator Ian Barter, is due for release in August 2026, and features the new single “5G”.
