A night of soulful music from Jen Kirsten&#39;s debut album &#39;Focusing.&#39; Jen share&#39;s songs she has written from her journey from the 2 years of creating her album. She seeks to take the listener on a deep journey through her lyrics, with an undertone of hope woven into the fabric of her music. Support from Edinburgh based artist Judah Burwell. Jen Kirsten is a singer-songwriter, composer and producer currently based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Formerly releasing music under her birth name Jenna Stewart, she started songwriting and recording in studios from the age of 9, featuring on various albums with her family and releasing 2 singles and an EP of her own. She was also awarded the BBC Young Composer Award in 2021, followed by a commission for the BBC Concert Orchestra of her piece Unchanging Purpose, premiered in the BBC Proms Festival in 2022. In 2022 Jen decided to take her music in a new trajectory, accompanying her newfound soulful sound, and since decided to release under her new name. She releases her debut album ‘Focusing’ on the 5th of September. Since graduating from studying music at university, Jen has built her own studio and looks forward to using her space to work with and encourage the development of other artists. Jen pursues authenticity and depth in the music she writes and explores the deep questions of life including grief, however with a hopeful undertone to offer amid a fractured world.
